Warning: Big, huge, giant-size spoilers ahead for Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 5.
Game of Thrones has made people very, very angry. The penultimate episode aired at 2 o'clock this morning, so there are some cranky British insomniacs joining the raging chorus of disappointment coming from American and Australian viewers who've already seen the episode.
Basically, people are mad because the writers have betrayed us with their decisions re: Cersei and Dany.
Excuse me but one of the finest fictional villains we've ever known, Ms Cersei Lannister, deserved a more epic death. We've spent so long wishing for her demise, only for her to finally be killed... by debris? Jaime reached his sister-lover just in time for them to be flattened beneath castle bricks. A crushing anti-climax for us all, it has to be said. It was an ending entirely unfit for such an iconic bitch and we all know it. She should have been slaughtered either by Jaime, or by Arya wearing his face, and that's all there is to say on the matter. It is truly a dire and unforgivable injustice.
Meanwhile, we've spent seven stonking seasons of this godforsaken show watching Dany fight to be a courageous leader, undo the damage her father did and become someone who actually belongs on the iron throne. She freed slaves and fought for the rights of thousands of people, only to... slaughter the innocent citizens of King's Landing for no plausible reason other than maybe "bitches be crazy"??? We actually feel for darling, sweet Emilia Clarke having to end her spectacular performance on this show in such a deranged, disappointing storyline.
And now, over to the fans for their thoughts.[ id="1127768353882263552"]
Just one episode left until Game of Thrones is over forever. Who will be sitting on the iron throne? Who will still be alive? Will Jon have to kill Dany? Do we even care anymore?
