Glossy eyes that have more dew than a forehead after a PT session are starting to hit the streets after a magical entrance on the runway, across Instagram and even the red carpet. And if you don't believe how pretty it is, just look at this gorgeous creation from @katiejanehughes.
Jump onto this jelly-look trend before it's too late, using these easy tips from makeup artists and glossy lid enthusiasts...
"You can easily recreate this look using an eyeshadow, and then applying a clear balm or oil on top for the glossy finish (make sure whatever you use is safe for the eye area)," says Sascha Jackson, Lead Pro Makeup Artist for Stila.
Celebrity makeup artist, Tobi Henney, seconds this, saying: "My go-to glossy lid tip is to tap Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream on top of the eyelids for a gorgeous finish."
And she's not the only one who likes to make use of what's already in her beauty kit... Our Insta-skin crush @bambidoesbeauty likes to swipe Egyptian Magic Cream across her lids for super-glossy eyes, "For me it just adds a touch of glamour to your look without looking too 'done' ... give me all the dew!"
While we love the look a clear gloss gives, we're equally as obsessed with wet-look bright and bold colours...
Pastels can pack a punch, too...
Don't be afraid to mix textures either. A glossy eye with a matte lip gives us goosebumps. Sascha agrees saying: "the contrast in textures really compliment each other".
But what about the rest of your face? "A natural complexion, cream blusher and a slick of mascara," is ideal for daytime, Sascha suggests, whilst you can amp it up come nighttime by "teaming it with highlighted skin and a defined lip."
One of the coolest glossy eye looks we've seen comes from makeup artist Jelly Eugenio, who showed off a gorgeous rose gold look on singer Filipino singer, KZ, in her Instagram shot:
Bold & bright eye makeup: how the celebrities do it 🌈✨
Our fave three ways to wear the look are:
1. A clear gloss on the eye with a bright berry shade on the lips.
2. A rose gold/burgundy tinted eye gloss paired with matte red lipstick.
3. A clear gloss mixed with a bold eyeshadow - we like marine blue or forrest green - for the ultimate pigment, with lips left bare.
Move over matte shadow, eye gloss is having its' moment...
