Our love for Zara knows no bounds. It is our go-to for date outfits, out-out looks and random midweek pick-me-ups (it is literally impossible to resist a lunchtime trawl through its rails). And did we mention its entire collection of animal print this season? The dream.
So yeah, there’s no doubting our loyalty, but if we had one teeny weeny quibble, it’s that its clothes are so amazing, we sometimes bump into our mates wearing the same things.
Enter Spanish brand Lefties, Zara’s secret little sister that’s still totally under-the-radar but chic AF.
Lefties (derived from the word ‘leftovers’) started life as an outlet selling old-season Zara stock in 1993, but now it‘s a fully-fledged brand in its own right. But it‘s even more affordable than Zara – think Primark-meets-H&M-level pricing.
And there is so much more to love about Lefties. Patchwork ’90s slip dresses, leopard print everything (yep, we know, we have a problem), cord blazers, check trousers and a super-chic range of Versace-inspired chain-link shirts – basically our entire wardrobe wishlist for this season.
Sadly, there is a major catch. Although it has recently expanded, Lefties currently only has stores in Spain, Portugal, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, and, while you can drool over its new-season amazingness , it doesn’t currently sell online either. This is too cruel. It might be time for a girls’ weekend in Madrid while we wait for it to arrive in the UK...
