They launched their blog 'A Bikini A Day' back in 2012 as a way of sharing images of themselves in exotic locations wearing some of their favourite bikinis.
One year later, Tash Oakley and Devin Brugman founded their own label 'Monday Swimwear', followed by 'Monday Active' in 2016.
We caught up with the duo to discover their five top tips...
1. Comfort is key
"Comfort is key in swimwear and can only be achieved by selecting the right size and style for you. If we’re shooting a suit that’s cutting in or coming off, it's hard to feel confident. Consider how you’d feel walking around in a pair of heels two sizes too small… You wouldn’t do it!"
2. Choose your fabrics wisely
"Shopping for a new suit (especially online) can be daunting and deceptive. Keep an eye out for descriptions like soft and seamless and take note of the fabrics. If you want comfort without sacrificing resilience, then go for fabrics that are soft but long-lasting - Jersey Knit Nylon/ Elastane blends are usually a good option."
3. Make the most of your assets
"If you have a big bust, we recommend staying away from suits with thin or delicate straps. There is nothing worse than feeling like your bikini top is severing your neck while you try to relax on the beach. Look for styles that have wider neck straps for better support and ultimate comfort."
4. Be mindful of your skin
"The most valuable advice we can give on skincare is to protect yourself from sun damage. To us, having a solid SPF regimen is as important as staying hydrated! We really love Coola Organic SPF because it’s natural and doesn’t cause us to break out. It can take time to find the right product for your skin type but the benefits of using an SPF far outweigh the consequences of not."
Choose from the best sunscreens for a UV and SPF protection that suits you
5. Put in the hours
"Exercise; we all want the results, but don’t always want to do it. If there’s one thing we’ve learnt from our busy schedules and endless working hours, it’s that exercise is a must! We couldn’t operate the way we do without working out. Travelling so often can restrict the time we have to make it to the gym, which is why Body By Gilles has been such a blessing to us. We can literally do it anywhere, anytime, and because it’s HIIT (high intensity interval training) we don’t have to feel guilty over short 20 minute work outs."
