Emily Blunt talks Girl On The Train & Lisa Kudrow fan-girling

27 Sep 2016

The Girl On The Train hits our screens next month, and to celebrate, we interviewed the star of the movie - Emily Blunt.

Rex Features

The British actress, who rose to fame in The Devil Wears Prada, plays Rachel, a rather unusual protagonist - described as an alcoholic who makes infuriatingly bad decisions, including getting fired from her job and still undergoing the daily mundane commute so that she can peek out of the window and obsess over a happy looking couple she sees every day. One day though, she sees something that will change her life forever.

The film, directed by Tate Taylor (The Help, Get on Up), stars Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Justin Theroux, Haley Bennett, Luke Evans, Edgar Ramirez and Allison Janney, and is based on Paula Hawkins' bestselling novel, The Girl on the Train.

We grabbed (a whole) four minutes with Emily Blunt to discuss the movie, how she fan-girled over Lisa Kudrow (who also stars) and we couldn't resist asking her about her next movie, a live adaptation of fan-favourite, Mary Poppins. Is she nervous about stepping into Julie Andrews's booties and picking up her carpet bag? Watch our interview and find out...

The Girl On The Train movie release date is set for 7 October 2016. Watch the trailer below...
