We’ll be honest, we’ve never really given our home-waxing kits much thought. Most of us are probably guilty of using the same old brand since we were teenagers (if it ain’t broken, why fix it?) because, let’s face it, DIY waxing are always going to be a bit of a faff, always going to make a mess and most of them pretty much do the exact same thing, right?
We thought that to be the case too, until we heard about , a new home-waxing kit that has somehow managed to attract a waiting list of over 8,000 people eager to get their hands on it.
So, what’s all the fuss about?
Well, firstly they come as beads, yes ACTUAL beads that look a little bit like mini Christmas decorations in shades of gold and rose gold. And secondly, they’re completely cruelty-free.
The brand has also been hailed as mess-free and non-irritating to the skin too which definitely gives it extra bonus points in our eyes.
Of course, really it’s the fact that this at-home waxing kit was made for Instagram that has sent everyone crazy. No, you may have never posted about removing your leg hairs before but melt these beads into a bowl and you have something totally worthy of the 'gram.
Not everyone is as convinced this kit is that much different to any regular one though. When reviewing Wakse, The Refinery 29 said, “Though we’ll never get used to the sensation of ripping hair off the sensitive bikini area, we were relieved to find that the process didn’t tear or cut into our skin or cause a rash, irritation, or excessive red bumps to develop the next day. Our skin was smooth, hair free, and only a little pink afterward — which is the case most times we wax."
