Pinching, chafing, marks on your skin – most of us are wearing bras that prioritise looks over feel, and in some cases are straight-up painful to wear. Which makes zero sense when you think about it. It’s 2019, people, and we are so finished with anything that comes between us and feeling comfortable, free and able to conquer the world (hey, we like to dream big).
So, in the quest for boob comfort, four GLAMOUR staffers decided to try out some of the bras from sloggi’s Zero Feel range. They are all super-soft, seamfree and have 360° stretch – so far, so comfy. And if you’re looking for a little extra support, the new generation Zero Feel bra has a hook and eye clasp, and is made from smart fabric with ‘Viscomagic technology’ that provides strategic shaping in the places you need it, without the need for wires. Genius.

I'd like to believe I know what I'm doing when it comes to outerwear, but underwear is a whole other beast. Far from an expert, I tend to opt for very simple triangle bras in either cotton or lace. No underwire. No fuss. But when it comes to wearing thin t-shirts and blouses on *ahem* chilly days, there can be a slight smuggling-Tic-Tacs situation across the brassiere. Determined not to forgo my comfort but acutely aware of the critical lens belonging to the smorgasbord of street style photographers, I opted for sloggi's Zero Feel bra during Fashion Week in lieu of my usual triangle-shaped comfort blanket. Here's where I'd love to give you a minute-by-minute run-down of how the bra treated me, but I'll be totally honest - I forgot I was wearing it. From sitting slumped on the umpteenth uncomfortable front row bench of the day, to chasing down my driver on The Strand and contorting my body to get *the shot* for my 'gram, it was as if nothing were different. Only the Tic-Tacs were nowhere to be seen.

I decided to really put the sloggi Zero Feel bra through its paces by wearing it on one of my most hectic working days – AKA, directing a Glamour video shoot. I’m up and out early to get to the location and I don’t stop all day. I’m dragging equipment around, setting up props and doing a million and one things that require me to move, bend and stretch constantly. The most surprising thing? At the end of a very long shoot – yes, I’m 95% caffeine at this point – I get home and take my bra off, expecting that usual rush of relief to be rid of it (not to mention red marks around my back and shoulders). But there’s absolutely no discomfort to recover from, because this bra is like a comfy, supportive second skin. And I realise it was so comfortable, I didn’t actually notice I was wearing it all day. Actual magic.

I am a notorious over-packer. And because my toiletries usually take up half my luggage space (welcome to the life of a beauty editor), clothing options are usually sacrificed. You never really think about how much space bras take up, but when I packed the sloggi Zero Feel bra for my weekend away, the comparison was crazy. Without an underwire making it protrude outwards, I could fold the sloggi to a tenth of the size my regular bra takes up. Plus it has no problem smooshing between other items in my case, but still holds its supportive shape when you take it out again. Less room taken up with bras = more room for that holiday SPF.

No underwire? Are you kidding me?! OK, so I may have slightly overreacted when I was asked to try the new generation sloggi Zero Feel N Bra. But let’s just say I’m a *little* more blessed in the chest department than some of my colleagues, and I demand lots of support from a bra. The last thing I want to be worrying about when I’m out meeting important clients (or just ever) is bouncing, jiggling – or worse, nipples showing. I. Can’t. Even. So I really wasn’t expecting to be impressed by a bra that has no underwire, in fact, no obvious support structure at all. But as soon as I put it on I do feel supported. Really supported. It’s flexible, soft and stretchy, and gives me a nice shape. I spend the day running between meetings and it’s definitely up to the job of keeping these babies in place – and it beats my other bras for comfort. I’m as surprised as anyone, but I’m saying it: this bra is awesome. I can keep it, right?
We’re calling it – life is too short to be wearing uncomfortable bras. And sloggi Zero Feel bras are literally the comfiest one we’ve ever tried. So, unfasten yourself from the restrictions of underwire, give this bra a go, and you might not want to take it off. Ever. Just us?
