There's a brand new facial filler on the market that promises to add volume to the chin and jawline area.
Allergan has added a specifically-formulated gel to their Juvéderm face filler range. It's called Juvéderm VOLUX and promises to restore the shape of the jawline for up to 18-24 months.
Apparently, as we get older, several things can cause a change in the shape of our lower faces - and this promises to address that. Genetics play a significant role in the changing shape of our faces over a lifetime, of course, as well as natural shifts in soft tissue and bone structure. Repetitive facial expressions over years can affect the way our chins and jawlines change. Environmental factors are also relevant.
Everything you need to know about fillers
“Our face shape changes as we age: skin begins to thin and lose its plumpness, while drooping soft tissue can lead to the appearance of jowls,” dermatologist Patricia Ogilvie, Germany, said. “Until now, non-invasive treatment options for the lower face have been limited. Juvéderm VOLUX is the perfect solution for my patients who want a more defined look around the lower face without having to resort to surgery - the gel enables us to restore volume so that the jawline appears tauter and more defined.”
And in news that will surprise nobody, apparently 70 per cent of people care about the appearance of their faces, according to global consumer research. Forty-three per cent of the 800 people Allergen spoke to said that they were concerned about the shape of their chins and jawline.
