Cheryl has returned to the spotlight with a bang.
The celebrity guest on this year's X Factor revealed to GLAMOUR's Alex Steinherr that her priorities have shifted: “I don’t feel any pressure at all [coming back]. It’s like my whole world has been turned upside down. It’s not the be all and end all of my world: he is.”
The singer also revealed on This Morning about her new role as a “mam”.
In her first TV interview in 10 months, Cheryl discusses how she’s juggling her music comeback with baby Bear in a behind-the-scenes interview at her latest L’Oreal campaign. Branded a ‘superwoman’ by boyfriend and baby daddy Liam Payne, Cheryl suggests that she’s forgone the help of a nanny explaining, "When you're looking after a baby 24/7..."
Cheryl has been understandably off-radar since giving birth to her son Bear in March. Liam shared a behind the scenes photo of what turned out to be her first shoot back.
He posted a pic of Cheryl's dressing gown, writing: "His and hers #iwantthiskindoftreatmentalso." (Come on L'Oreal, get the lad a personalised dressing gown.)
And then Cheryl shared a photo that can in common parlance only be described as "a cracker". Cheryl's back in the game![ id="BXQZxY6Bewr"]
After staying out of the limelight with their new addition the past few months, Cheryl had also shared a selfie of her and Liam enjoying some alone time.
Simply captioning the pic 'date night', Cheryl's couple's photo shows the pair on their way out in the back of a cab. Naturally, Cheryl had added a Snapchat filter to the mix.
It's the first photo of the pair the 34-year-old has shared since the birth of their son in March.
Recently, Liam shared a sweet snap of baby Bear on his Instagram account with the pair of them wearing matching Yeezy trainers. Seriously, so cute.
Recently he opened up about his home life on an interview with US radio station Hot 99.5. The One Direction star was asked whether he and Cheryl were singing lullabies to baby Bear at bedtime.
Although Liam explained Bear is still too young to need help nodding off, he did say Bear is a fan of the telly, and of a very specific show 'Keeping up with The Kardashians':
"We haven’t really started lullabies yet but he loves the telly and my Mrs has got the Kardashians on all the time at the moment."
And seems like Liam is not very happy about it: "I don’t mind watching a little bit of the Kardashians but I don’t want him looking at it and being like ‘Oh yeah that’s what we should do’" - he added.
We're not sure how Cheryl will feel about this, as her and Khloé Kardashian are known to be BFFs. When Bear was born the reality star even sent the new parents a £5000 Harrods hamper - #friendshipgoals much?
For Father's Day this year, Cheryl gifted the new dad an adorable reminder of their baby boy: a bear-shaped necklace, which Liam has been flaunting on his Instagram Stories.
The One Direction star was also spotted with the rather sparkly accessory while promoting his new single and paying a visit to Jimmy Fallon in New York City.
Cheryl also took to social media to wish Liam a happy Father's Day.
"Happy 1st Father's Day Liam..." Cole wrote, alongside a black and white photo of Payne. "You are the most amazing daddy and the best example for our son. The way he looks at you says it all. Your relationship melts my heart. You are the centre of his world & We adore you."[ id="BVfEPbFBUl-"]
Speaking on the red carpet, he said: "It's the craziest thing ever. He's been a grumpy today. It's the first time he's looked at me and said 'Daddy please help' and I didn't really know what to do.
"We had him in the bath he was having a bit on pain but he's super chill. (Cheryl's) got him in a sleeping pattern already we're getting seven hours of sleep a night."
He then told GLAMOUR about his perfect night in: "I don’t often get a lot of them but when I do, night time is always bath time. It’s my job to set up the bath and get it all ready and then I sit around and watch him play with his bubbles. He’s probably doing it right now while I’m here."
"It’s been the most amazing thing in the world, I can’t say much more than that about the experience. Parents say you won’t know until you have one and it’s so true because until it happens, you don’t know. It’s the most amazing thing ever."
It's not the first time Liam has spoken openly about his new addition. Liam went all TMI on last month's The Graham Norton Show.
“I was there at the birth and it was amazing and then I was left in charge," he told Graham. "I’d never changed a nappy before I met Bear and all went well brilliantly until five in the morning, Bear wakes up and Cheryl changes his nappy – there was poo and spouting wee everywhere!”
Bear has changed his life though, telling the viewers of Australia’s Kyle & Jackie O Show: "The moment that little boy or girl looks in your eyes your life is changed forever."
The new dad appeared on the Capital FM Big Top 40 show with Marvin Humes and Kat Shoob where he was asked which of his bandmates could be trusted to look after baby Bear. Turns out he didn't really want any of them babysitting - especially Harry...
"I couldn't rely on Harry 'cos I feel like my child would come out dressed in something that I just wouldn't understand," he said. Clearly he isn't as keen on Harry's daring style as we are.
He also ruled out Niall, saying: "With Niall, the kid would be putting golf balls on tees! Niall would be pushing the pram while swinging the putter at the same time!"
He then (very reluctantly) decided that Louis, who has a baby of his own, would be the most suitable option. However, he'd still be Liam's "last choice."
"I suppose Louis 'coz Louis's got a nipper, ain't he?" he said. "I suppose he would be but he'd be my last choice in my head, that's the funniest thing! But he's got to be first 'coz he knows more than any of the rest of them."
For now, it seems Cheryl and Liam will be the only ones on baby duty.
"I think I'll leave him with me," the star added. "Even though I don't really… am I the most trusted? I could be!"
Apart from her Father's Day message, Cheryl has kept fairly quiet on social media, only describing little Bear as "amazing", she said she was doing "great" and said she'd "missed" her followers since taking a break from Instagram and Twitter.
She also revealed that Bear had only ever peed on her, not Liam.
"Just me. I think those two have a deal," she joked.
Liam recently said Cheryl is doing all the hard graft: "I'll be honest with you, she's doing it all herself at the moment because she wants to know what it feels like when I'm not there," he explained.
"She knows that I'm going on tour, so obviously she's got a lot to deal with. Which is hard. I thought that I'd get the call saying, 'we need a nanny for this', but no, she's doing everything. She's really pushing herself with it, bless her."
Speaking to a group of One Direction fans in Boston, where Liam was promoting his solo material Strip That Down, the star revealed that his son's middle name is Grey.
Bear Grey Payne. Like it?
Regarding the name, Liam reportedly said: "I’m into more traditional names, the Mrs . . . she’s more into more unique, original names that people will remember.
"It was her choice. I wasn’t going to fight her about it, she’s the one who’s done all the work, isn’t she?"
"We’re always Facetiming and the other day he smiled at me for the first time, it was so special. I just want to spend every moment with him but she (Cheryl) is so great, she does everything on her own, she’s been amazing."
It was believed Liam wanted the name Taylor because years ago he told Hits Radio: "I like the name Taylor. Taylor’s pretty neutral for a boy or a girl. That’s what I’m going to call my first child if I had children."
She uploaded a photo to Instagram, and captioned the adorable shot: "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever 💙".[ id="BSEw6PMhbx6"]
Liam posted the same picture, captioning it: "My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow!
"I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far. I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true. We haven't named him yet but he's already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!"
The couple first met when Liam auditioned for the X Factor in 2008. He was 14 and Cheryl was 24. Nine years on and now they are parents to their first child.
Cheryl kept us guessing for months, covering her stomach in chunky knits and busy prints, but there was no hiding the bump when she wore her showed it off in her L'Oreal ad - above.
Cheryl and Liam went public with their romance in February 2016 after being spotted together in a supermarket in Surrey.
