Hi Smile Teeth Whitening Kit, £49.99
Some people swear by swilling coconut oil for whiter teeth or use activated charcoal and a whitening kit in an attempt to remove stains. But the Kardashians' go-to teeth whitening device? The Hi Smile Teeth Whitening Kit.
Confession: I am a marketing person's dream. Despite being cynical enough to realise that the Kardashians were being paid to promote the Hi Smile Teeth Whitening Kit on their Instagram accounts, I wanted in.
In the £49.99 product's description, the makers say their kit has been designed to deliver maximum results in 6 applications, with each application being only 10 minutes. "Our key ingredients ensure there’s no pain or sensitivity caused throughout the process while delivering results of up to 8 shades whiter teeth," they claim.
The company's tag line promises: "10 Minutes. 3 Steps. 6 Days." But can you really achieve a set of pearly whites in under a week? I was about to find out.
The best teeth whitening kits & natural alternatives for an A-list pearly white smile

I drink too much coffee and too much red wine but because I have a penchant for whitening toothpastes (and am even partial to a spot of oil pulling), my teeth aren't too discoloured. While I don't want to emulate Jack from Love Island's blindingly white gnashers, taking my smile a few shades lighter is the goal.
Firstly, I love the kit. It's neat, straightforward and compact. Inside the box I found the LED light (a gum shield-esque device attached to an LED light), three syringes full of the whitening gel, a day toothpaste, a night toothpaste and a set of concise instructions. First impressions? I'm getting a lot of bang for my buck here.
I found the instructions a little confusing. They instruct you to apply 'a quarter of the syringe to the top of the tray and also to the bottom'. On first application, I missed the point and used just one quarter for both top and bottom, rather than a quarter of the gel on the top and then another quarter on the bottom. Maths was never my strong point, OK?
I inserted the tray into my mouth whilst watching Netflix and the 10 minutes flew by. I have super sensitive teeth and didn't feel a thing. After use, you simply wash out the tray and your mouth with water and head off to the land of nod. It really couldn't be much easier.
I tried swilling coconut oil in my mouth for whiter teeth and couldn't believe what happened
There's also the day and night toothpastes, which you're supposed to use twice a day. The Day Toothpaste is designed to protect your teeth from stains during the day, with micro shield wax forming a protective barrier over your teeth. The Night Toothpaste, which has a black hue thanks to the activated charcoal ingredients, is designed to naturally remove stains and help whiten your teeth while you sleep. I wasn't totally sold on the toothpastes and followed up with my regular choice for a fresher finish.
I didn't notice my teeth getting whiter by the day but after the six sessions, they'd definitely lightened by a few shades and I particularly noticed they were brighter in photos. Whilst I didn't receive any comments about their lighter hue (unlike when I tried whitening my teeth with oil pulling), I was pretty impressed with the results. I'd be tempted to buy another pack and give it another go but a trip to the dentist for a professional teeth whitening session could work out much more cost effective. Thanks to this nifty little device, we really can Keep Up With The Kardashians.
