After this year's earlier speculation following a report by , Lana or just officially confirmed on her Instagram that a sequel to To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is DEFINITELY HAPPENING. Crack one of those Korean yogurt smoothies and let’s call this an early Christmas present.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before 2 is pending a title BUT the reunion of Lana or and Noah Centineo was said to be “one of the first movies being discussed,” as part of a new deal between Netflix and Paramount.
Lana confirmed the news on a video on her Instagram, captioned: "It’s happening! So excited to announce #ToAllTheBoysSequel is coming soon.... let's do this."
During the video she has a video call with co-star Noah Centineo, casually chatting about what they're doing for Christmas gifts to each other (cute), before saying she's so pleased he's letting her make the announcement to fans.
"I am so excited," she starts. Us too. "It's officially, official. We are making the To All the Boys sequel." Noah then responds with equal enthusiasm, "Bring on the sequel. We are so excited."
As if that wasn't already ENOUGH to get our hearts racing, Lana then takes ANOTHER PHONE CALL, responding "What?! You're going to make the perfect John Ambrose."
This cliffhanger is referencing that character we got a tiny glimpse at in the first film, arriving with a bunch of flowers at Lara Jean's door. In the book series the film is based on, John definitely plays a key role in Lana's crush-list of all the boys she's loved...
Since the first film debuted in the summer, it has rapidly become one of the most-streamed original movies ever and had strong repeat viewing. Wasn’t just us, then!
Based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Jenny Han, the sequel will pick up on the relationship between the over-night sensations, Lara and Peter, and we can’t wait.
The film catapulted the pair into stardom with thirsty double tappers taking Centineo’s Instagram following from just shy of 1 million to 16 million practically overnight. And what a thirst trap it is!
The sequel will follow the second book, P.S I Still Love You, in the trilogy series, penned by Jenny Han, and is set to follow the trials and tribulations of the pair’s blossoming relationship.
Details are a touch sketchy at the moment but speaking to , the film’s director, Susan Johnson revealed all the faves will be back as they are all "attached contractually" for a follow-up. But it is widely expected that the follow-up will include some of the other boys Lara penned letters to who appeared in the closing credits of the first movie. Trouble in paradise could be afoot, so maybe get those tissues ready.
We can’t wait so don’t mind us whilst we run off to read P.S. I Still Love You because we can’t wait ANY LONGER to see what happen.
Stay tuned to GLAMOUR as we will update you on all the key details when they land. Get. Excited.
